Welcome to the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA)! Chicago's Airports are owned and operated by the City of Chicago. The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is responsible for the management, planning, design, operation and maintenance of O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport.

Both Midway and O'Hare have won numerous awards over the years. For the tenth consecutive year, O’Hare International Airport received the 2009 Global Traveler Award for “Best Airport in North America”. O’Hare was recognized by business travelers who participated in a survey conducted between January and August 2009. Global Traveler magazine is a nationally-circulated travel publication for business travelers. In 2008, our airports won two national awards: O'Hare received the 1st Place Award from the Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA), for Excellence in Marketing and Communications. During that same year, Midway International Airport won 2nd Place - Best Retail Concept for Excellence in Concessions from the same organization. O’Hare International Airport was voted in November 2004 "Best Airport in North America" in Business Traveler Magazine’s Annual Reader Survey for the seventh consecutive year. Midway International Airport was awarded the 2004 Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Public Innovator Award for Physical Design.
